Commitment To The Lord

There is no commitment to the Lord on the part of unsaved individuals and a very shallow commitment to Him on the part of even many saved individuals. Every spiritual problem I have ever had was caused by too little commitment to the Lord and every spiritual blessing has been the result of a commitment to Him. When I received Jesus, the preacher did not say it, but the Holy Spirit caused me to understand that receiving Him was a commitment. It was a commitment because of who He is, God the Son and the Son of God. Receiving Him was a commitment to His authority. When no evidence of a commitment to the Him is demonstrated in the lives of some, I seriously doubt that they have received the same Jesus that I have. No commitment equals no faith.

Proverbs 16:3: Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.

1 Peter 4:19: Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

Romans 12:1: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

2 Timothy 1:12: For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

Mark 8:35: For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel*s, the same shall save it.

Romans 6:16: Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Acts 6:7: And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

Psalms 100:2a: Serve the LORD with gladness: . . .

Luke 6:46: And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

John 10:27: My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

Ecclesiastes 12:13: Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
